Meanwhile,the Best Economy car 2013 goes to the 2013 Toyota Prius C and the Best Premium Mid Sized Sedan goes to the New BMW 3 series (in a category where only 3 cars compete in Mauritius : the BMW 3 series, Mercedes C class and Audi A4 .. in Europe and the US, models like the Lexus IS and Infiniti add up to this category)

Les vehicules de la gamme SKODA debarquent à l'ile Maurice

Skoda, marque automobile européenne du groupe Volkswagen, est aujourd’hui officiellement distribuée à Maurice par la compagnie Ecogreen. Si les véhicules sont disponibles depuis décembre 2013, ce n’est qu’en mai prochain que la marque sera officiellement présentée lors d’un grand lancement.

C’est un showroom provisoire sur la route Royale à Grande-Rivière-Nord-Ouest que le concessionnaire expose quatre véhicules dont trois du modèle Skoda Fabia et un Skoda Yeti.

Quant aux Skoda Fabia, il s’agit d’automobiles de la catégorie citadine disponibles en boîte de vitesse manuelle ou automatique et avec une cylindrée qui débute à 1 198 centimètres cubes (cc). Des voitures du segment des berlines doivent compléter le catalogue 2014. Il s’agit de la Skoda Rapid en février et de la Skoda Octavia en mars.

Parmi tous ces modèles, la Skoda Fabia est vendue à partir de Rs 625 000 sur route et la Skoda Rapid à partir de Rs 960 000 sur route. Les tarifs du Skoda Yeti et de la Skoda Octavia ne sont pas finalisés.

Ces voitures sont accessibles à la classe moyenne car vendues à des prix abordables. Elles sont destinées aux clients qui souhaitent un bon rapport qualité/prix, une qualité allemande mais ne veulent payer trop cher. En Europe, les Skoda sont réputées pour leurs espaces intérieurs », indique Ken Li Ting Tung, manager d’Ecogreen.

The high-revving six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology newly developed for the new BMW M3 Sedan and new BMW M4 Coupe produces a maximum output of 431 hp. Its peak torque of 550 Newton metres (406 lb-ft) is available across a wide rev band and outstrips the figure recorded by the outgoing BMW M3 by roughly 40 per cent. And yet the engine also achieves a reduction in fuel consumption and emissions of around 25 per cent. Both the BMW M3 Sedan and BMW M4 Coupe cover the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h / 62 mph in 4.1 seconds (with the optional seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission).
In the interests of maximising dynamic ability and ensuring excellent efficiency, weight savings of around 80 kilograms have been achieved over a comparably equipped predecessor model. The BMW M4 Coupe, for example, has a DIN kerb weight of 1,497 kilograms, thanks to the rigorous application of intelligent lightweight design measures. These include the increased use of lightweight materials such as carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and aluminium for a number of chassis and body components. Indeed, both models feature a carbon roof.
